
Peter is a senior corporate affairs and strategic communications leader with decades of experience advising global financial institutions, C-suite executives, and boards through complex geopolitical, regulatory, and reputational environments. His career spans senior roles at two of the world’s most influential financial firms, where he helped guide organizations through transformational periods of growth, public scrutiny, and industry change.
From 2016 to 2022, Peter served as a Senior Advisor to Blackstone, the world’s largest alternative asset manager. Previously, he was a partner and Global Head of Public Affairs, where he oversaw media relations, government relations, and communications to investors, policymakers, and other critical stakeholders. He played a central role in shaping Blackstone’s public positioning, regulatory engagement, and global reputation during a period of significant expansion and increased public visibility.
Before joining Blackstone in 2007, Peter spent 20 years at Goldman Sachs in Washington, New York, and Asia. He served as a lobbyist and political analyst in the firm’s Washington office before moving to New York to establish Goldman’s first-ever media relations function as the company prepared to go public. In 1998, he relocated to Asia to build a regional corporate communications operation, later returning to the United States to lead media relations for the firm across the Americas.
Peter’s career began in public service as Chief of Staff to Congressman Mike Synar (D-Okla.), followed by a role as a partner at a Washington, D.C. law firm. He now serves as a Senior Adviser to FGS Global, one of the world’s leading strategic communications and crisis advisory firms, and holds board positions with the NAACP, DMC Global, and the Poetry Society of the United States. He holds a B.A. from The George Washington University and a J.D. from Yale Law School.
