Darren is a veteran strategic communications leader and speechwriter with deep experience spanning government, finance, media, and the private sector. He is known for his versatility as a writer, sound judgment under pressure, and ability to guide senior leaders through complex reputational and operational challenges.

Most recently, Darren served as Chief Communications Officer for the Dallas Regional Chamber, one of the nation’s largest business organizations. His earlier experience includes senior roles at Bloomberg LP, where he served as Chief of Staff for Communications and Government Relations, and at Citigroup, where he was Director of Executive Communications and head speechwriter during the global financial crisis. He also spent six years in Washington, D.C., holding communications roles at The White House and serving as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Secretary of Commerce.

After leaving government, Darren joined Bryan Cave Strategies, advising a portfolio of major companies on federal strategy, communications, and reputation. An accomplished writer, he has authored speeches and materials for Fortune 100 CEOs, nonprofit leaders, political candidates, Cabinet secretaries, two U.S. presidents, and international figures. He is also co-author of the bestselling memoir Still Standing: My Journey from Streets and Saloons to the Stage, and Sinatra.

Darren has served on the boards of SMU’s School of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs, VisitDallas, and Wings for Warriors.
