Dan is an experienced communications and public affairs operator with deep experience creating and executing successful strategic campaigns.
He began his career in the UK Parliament, producing high quality materials for the Prime Minister, Cabinet members and Members of Parliament. His time in public affairs and corporate communications agencies saw him advise clients in highly regulated industries: technology (including cyber security and health tech), alternative investment management, energy, and consumer goods, among others.
Later, Dan led policy and public affairs for the operator of the UK’s National Lottery – a highly regulated organisation with annual revenue of around $10 billion. He secured changes to primary and secondary legislation through strategic engagement with the executive and legislature, removing regulatory barriers to protect significant income streams.
In the US, he works across industries and issues to support brands in telling their impact stories to external stakeholders.
An avid campaigner, he led work to introduce a more equitable blood donation policy in the UK which increased the pool of donors, whilst increasing safety. The policy has since been replicated around the world, including in the US, and the campaign has been recognized with over 30 awards, including 3 Cannes Lions.
Dan currently sits on the boards of two educational charities, leading external engagement in addition to his governance and fiduciary responsibilities.
